Café Enchanté - Exclusive Card Set & New Release Date

Today Aksys revealed that an exclusive 6-card set featuring the main characters will be included with first run copies of the game. Aksys currently hasn't announced anything like a limited edition, so these cards would be some cute merch to own!

While the game was originally slated for November 20th, it seems that Café Enchanté will now be released on November 5th!

I'm not the only one who's noticed this, but as a side note: I wonder why they wrote Misyr's name like that when the official romanization on the Japanese website is Miser? (Aksys also did the same with Sisi/Sissy in Code Realize) 🤷

Until next time!

P.S. Considering Aksys' track record, I'm still not sure if I want to buy the English version or import hng

Café Enchanté and Piofiore [Eng] Available for Preorder

Café Enchanté | Piofiore

As of May 14th, both of Aksys's latest titles Café Enchanté (aka Gensou Kissa Enchante) and Piofiore Fated Memories (aka Piofiore no Banshou) are available for preorder on their US store. Both are priced at $49.99, and neither have a set release date yet other than "Fall 2020." It's also unknown at the moment if there'll be any sort of limited edition.

Piofiore is a Vita port while Café Enchanté is an original Switch game. Both games look very promising, so it's exciting that they're being localized! ヽ(。ゝω・。)ノ

If I had to pick out the two, I think I'm a little more interested in Café Enchanté. Mafia-themed media isn't exactly new haha but who knows where the game will go.

As a side note/rant... What's up with the localized name for Piofiore? The original title is ピオフィオーレの晩鐘, which can be translated as (The) Evening Bell of Piofiore / Piofiore's Evening Bell. But Aksys decided to add in a "Fated Memories"... huh??

Until next time~!

Norn9 is Getting Localized!

ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN, ANOTHER OTOGE IS BEING LOCALIZED!!

It was announced in a recent article that Aksys has decided to take on another otoge project for Vita, which will be localized as Norn9: Var Commons.

It'll release in both a digital AND PHYSICAL YAY. ☆*・゜゚・*\(^O^)/*・゜゚・*☆

About a year ago, the sequel Norn9: Last Era was released (along with an anime adaptation if I remember right?) and the first game was ported to Vita. It's awesome that we can get a localization after a fair amount of time after the Vita port~

Norn9 was one of those game I had my eyes on, but never got around to buying it, so I'm super excited for this localized release since I can plow through much quicker.  If I remember right, there are 3 heroines who each have their own set of bachelors, so I'll be looking forward to that as well. (*´・v・)

Seems we know what company is getting my money this year. |D

2 Otome Games Getting Localized!

Okay, Amnesia: Memories (originally titled just Amnesia) I knew about coming West, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW CODE: REALIZE WAS COMING TOO. ━Σ(゚Д゚|||)━  Like, holy. I live under a rock you guys So to keep myself aware about it, I'll be info-dumping what I know. And fan-babbling. ouob

Amnesia: Memories

With as long as Amnesia's been going, it's interesting to see that it finally got ported to an English release. XD (Kinda like Hakuouki, how there was quite a bit of time) I guess now that the PSP's retired, it's about high time to start pumping out some Vita releases~

Amnesia: Memories was announced about last month and comes out August 2015, my birthday month ehehe. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is that it seems to be a download only. (゚´Д`゚)゚So I may have to go invest in a larger mem card. Also presumably no goodies either UGH

But regardless, Amnesia is kinda like one of the the "starter pack" games of otome, I suppose, since many people know about it lol. (Kinda like for my age group, the "starter pack" anime was like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, etc. lol) Never really got around to playing Amnesia, though hopefully this'll motivate me since it'll be easier to breeze through in my first language. ( ´∀`)

Also considering it's Idea Factory International, I don't really have any worries about the English being a nightmare. Looking at you QuinRose

Code:Realize

Originally titled as Code:Realize ~創世の姫君~/ Code:Realize ~Sousei no Himegimi~, this game is getting localized as Code:Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth. (Which I can deal with) This announcement's only about a week old, BUT STILL. That's actually..... a really fast localization announcement considering the game came out November 27, 2014. XD

The English release isn't that far away, coming Fall 2015. ouo (The preorder links saying November 24)

As mentioned on a twitter post, there won't be any sort of  collector's edition //le cry// but there will be a physical release!! YAY!

Maybe they'll have a preorder bonus? (」゚ペ)」 But hey, I'm happy with a localization and a physical copy, since Code:Realize was on my list to someday buy anyway~

There's also a site currently live for the game. c:

I'm hoping that the cover art Aksys has right now is just a placeholder until they get a proper English cover. Because the one right now is so...... lame??
8I

Regardless! I'm probably more excited for this game rather than Amnesia considering it's a whole new franchise. |D

Apparently there's also an artbook coming out in Japan on May 16th:

GAHH I'M EXCITED. (≧∇≦o) Hopefully my wallet can manage LOL. Hooray for more English otomes~

And for the heck of it, here's miscellaneous art spam of Code:Realize:

Hakuouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom (PSP) Review

I've loved this series ever since I've stalked the Shinsengumi Kitan anime for weekly updates back in 2010. It was my first exposure to otome and visual novel, and I was drawn in to the whole political, historical fiction mixed in with demons, violence (c'mon they're warriors, they can't prance in a field of flowers all day), twists, and dark aspects of it. The story is fantastic and it's more than just your typical "fall head over heels in fluffyland" otome game.

Besides, what better way than to learn your (albeit a bit inaccurate) history AND have great oto-men?
( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
//slapped

Anyway, this story is basically about the rise and fall of the Shinsengumi with a dating and demon twist. You might be going "EW HISTORY", but trust me, it's more interesting than it sounds. The anime helps in understanding, but as always, the game is much preferred. If you know your history then basically you know how 90% of this game will turn out... EVERYONE DIES  (≧∇≦)ノ彡。.:*・゜☆ *throws confetti* Also, the only one surprised to find out Chizuru's a chick is Kondou because everyone else had already figured it out, as opposed to the anime where everyone is shocked and BL implications get thrown about. Multiple other people throughout the game see through her disguise as well: Kazama & his gang, Kaoru, Sei, Otori, and some random Imperial Army dudes. Even though they're trying to hide her true identity from all the other Shinsengumi members, they still make her run around serving tea, because that totally doesn't scream femininity LOL.

Before I start. . .
  • What's really nice about this game is that if you're not familiar with Japanese history, there's an encyclopedia that'll give you info on words highlighted in red.
  • Each character has about 3 endings: A Bad End, Good End w/ High Corruption, and Good End w/ Low Corruption. The "corruption" levels are determined by how often you choose blood or endure or give medicine
  • To get all said endings, it's best to have multiple save files starting from chapter 5, or just remember where choices branch off. I use about 1-2 per dude
  • Do remember that this game was originally on PS2 in 2008 before it was ported to PSP in 2009. And that was only Japan. The English version wasn't released until 2012. So yes, you'll have to wait a bit longer for it to save/load compared to more recent otomes.
  • Although the English translation is "Fury", I'm used to "Rasetsu". However, the terms are interchangeable. Same with "Ochimizu" and "Water of Life"
  • The original title is Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan. However, it was translated to Hakouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom *cough* Hijikata *cough*
  • Artist is Kazuki Yone 8D
Because I'm lazy, I won't mention all the historical things, like the battles. Feel free to Wikipedia or whatever the Shinsengumi battles though. 8D Since the game's English, I can play a route in about one sitting or so, so I can breeze through this game rather than taking a million years like everything else I play. Therefore, I'll just shove all the guys on one page. \(^o^)/ (Keep in mind though, the game is a bit long) The review will be in the order I played in.

As always, spoiler and image heavy, so if you don't want any of that, jump to "Conclusion"
