Cupid Parasite: English Comparisons Between the Localized and Japanese Openings

Once I was done yelling over the Cupid Parasite localization announcement by Idea Factory International back in July, I realized they had actually made quite a few changes to the opening movie... especially that "Love Cupid" nonsense. 😂 Plus there's a lot more natural English in general throughout.

So like the true Virgo I am, I made a thread about the English between the localized and Japanese versions of the OP, because comparing them was fun LOL. 

I actually posted a thread of this back in July on Twitter, but I figured I should probably put it here too~

All images on the bottom are the localized version, while all images on the top are the original Japanese version. Click images to enlarge further.

There's a simpler explanation for who Cupid is. Localized text also seems to be a little smaller and wider. ULY is now LYU. 

Fun Fact! Los York is shaped like Marilyn Monroe 👗

English text location has shifted a bit. "Funny Joker Land" no longer has a label

"LosYork Museum" has also been changed to "Los York Art Museum." Above Funny Joker Land is "Shlly Wood," which has been changed to "Sillywood."

However, both versions of the op still have this section as "Shlly Wood" 🎬

Minor changes to the time placement to read more naturally.

Also more minor changes to sound more natural.

Having the Cupid Parasite logo in English makes me so happy to see, it's actually happening. 😭 I love how it still perfectly captures the chaotic vibe of it! 

IFI altered the names of what kind of "Parasite" each of the LIs are I really like them! They help convey it even better imo. Gill is now The "Lovelorn" Parasite 💔

Shelby is now the "Prestige" Parasite instead of Status Parasite.

Raul is now the "Obsessed" (lmao yeah he is) Parasite

Keisaiin is now the "Glamor" Parasite ✨

And last of the Parasite5 is Allan, who is now the "Thieving" Parasite 💋 

Technically one Parasite did not undergo a name change~ ⚡

More minor time changes

This one was specifically changed to Standard Time

All the character names and seiyuu are already listed in English, so no changes there. 😉 However, the text on the sides was removed since it would be redundant to write the names twice in English

The original text is closer to a literal translation vs a more poetic one, but I actually kinda like the change since it alludes more to the whole marriage theme 🥺

I won't include all of the LIs this time either, but their new Parasite name is also reflected in this sequence

The music credits are translated, including the title of the song (恋はあせらず) The OP song is so fun, I love it a lot. 😊 (The official MV is also just as fun!)

The new OP is looking amazing, and I love the attention to detail that IFI included. The localization looks very promising already and I'm excited for this game to arrive in the West!
